Uses:
Anemia: Rich in calcium and iron; particularly effective for anemia before or after childbirth or blood loss from excess menses. Useful uterine tonic. Helps with excess bleeding and hormone imbalances.
Bleeding: Traditional use to prevent bleeding from skin ulcers, wounds, gums or sore throat. An effective astringent used to treat conjunctivitis, diarrhea, vaginitis.
Childbirth: Taken throughout or during late pregnancy and childbirth. Effective as a uterine stimulant. The astringent action action helps to prevent postpartum hemorrhaging. DO NOT TAKE THIS HERB WITH A HISTORY OF INTENSE LABOR OR MISCARRIAGE.
Diarrhea: A superb remedy for diarrhea, high in tannins and very astringent. Relieves nausea, vomiting, antiviral, reducing herpes 2, coxsackie, influenza, polio virus and retrovirus, and has anti-fungal properties.
Nausea: A digestive astringent, valuable for nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. For morning sickness and nausea and to facilitate childbirth. Safe and non-toxic. Balances hormones, tones the uterus and ovaries.
